Carrying Advanced Technology, Robotaxi Ioniq 5 Passes US Driving License Test
Hyundai announced that robotaxi Ioniq 5 or Ioniq 5 equipped with autonomous driving capabilities has completed a series of driving license tests in the United States (US).
In the documentation published by the brand, it can be seen that this autonomous vehicle completed a series of driving tests, including driving on the Las Vegas highway, USA. Thus, this at the same time ensures the public that the autonomous system has a high level of security.
"We will continue our efforts to communicate AI-based autonomous driving technology, which is expected to provide positive changes to our customers' daily lives," said Hyundai Motor Company Senior Vice President and Global Chief Marketing Officer Sungwon Jee, on the company's website, Tuesday, April 2.
In the driving test guided by professional testers, the car can impressively change lanes or proper maneuvers so as not to endanger other road users.

Robotaxi Ioniq 5 is a manifestation of Hyundai's innovation in presenting sophisticated mobility. This is the result of the company's collaboration with autonomous technology developer Motional which has been carried out for years.
This driving system can be realized thanks to a number of technologies embedded in the car, consisting of a series of advanced sensors combining LiDAR, radar, and cameras.
The South Korean manufacturer is also expanding this technology research and development site in Singapore. The facility called the Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Center Singapore (HMGICS) opened last November.
This facility combines advanced automation and real-time monitoring as well as data evaluation to push for possible limits in production. It is also equipped with advanced features made specifically for HMGICS to support AV production, including testing facilities and calibration centers.
