Hasto Bantah Likens Gibran To GT Halim Truck Driver: That's An Example, Overcoming Conflict Needs Growth
The Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto denied the accusation of degrading the vice presidential candidate Gibran Rakabuming Raka by likening it to a truck driver who crashed into a car at the Halim Toll Gate.
Hasto said what he said was an example of the need for an age limit.
"I don't like it like that (like a truck driver, ed). I gave an example when delivering the conversation, coincidentally there was a very serious problem when near the Halim Toll Gate there was a truck driver who was only 17 years old who did not have a driver's license and then experienced two crises," said Hasto to reporters at the TPN Media Center Ganjar-Mahfud, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Monday, April 1.
The two crises in question are the first driver hitting another vehicle.
"Second, because he was not old enough to face this problem, he immediately took a shortcut to try to run. So he gaspol and instead created an accident, a series of accidents which meant that only truck drivers needed maturity," said the Secretary of TPN Ganjar-Mahfud MD.
This condition, called Hasto, leads to the importance of a person's life limit, especially if he is going to become a leader. Because, in the field, maturity is needed to deal with a problem.
He analogizes this age limit as when someone takes care of a driving license (SIM). In addition to having enough, people who want to have a driver's license must also take the exam.
"It's not a SIM given even though it's not enough age, but because access to power is given a SIM. It turns out that to overcome the conflict, problems on the ground need maturity, especially to lead the nation and state," he said.
"So the age of 40 years as a presidential and vice presidential candidate is an age that shows the level of maturity. If the case on the highway alone can create victims like this, especially if the problem is at the national level. Maybe it will be during a cabinet meeting, for example, if this process is not formed because the abuse of power is more fun riding a bicycle," continued Hasto.

Hasto was in the spotlight after comparing Gibran with the truck driver who had an accident at the Halim Toll Gate on Wednesday, March 27. He said maturity in a job is very necessary, as well as as the leader of the country.
"Because maturity in carrying out certain positions, just for truck drivers is dangerous, especially since it has to do with managing a country as big as Indonesia with very complex problems," said Hasto in a discussion entitled 'Sing Waras Sing Wins', Saturday, March 30.
This was then responded by the Secretary General of the Gibran Center, Roy Marjuk, who said that President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) eldest son did not fit the same as a truck driver.
"It is more fitting to liken Gibran to be a young co-pilot who accompanies the super senior pilot. So that it is ensured that flights are safe, safe and successful to reach their destination," Roy told reporters, Monday, April 1.
"The passengers are the Indonesian people who get the best service guarantees," he continued.
