Pascaledakan Gud Sebelah Kodam Jaya, KSAD General Maruli Akan Evaluasi Gudang Penyimpanan Munisi

JAKARTA - Army Chief of Staff (KSAD) General TNI Maruli Simanjuntak apologized to the surrounding community, especially for the explosion and fire that occurred on Saturday night, March 30.

"So it is indeed quite risky to manage a warehouse like this. About 150,000 ammunition in the warehouse so far there have been no casualties. But in storage we will re-evaluate it," said TNI General Maruli Simanjuntak to reporters, Sunday, March 31.

Although the condition of the Regional Munition Warehouse (Gud cheap) was destroyed and damaged, it did not have an impact on other warehouses because they were far apart.

"It is far safe (with other warehouses) to be separated, which now we will try to make the types of munitions we pilah - pilah again. Previously, it was combined that wanted to be disposal. So, because of various types, we will evaluate various types of pilah again," he said.

Maruli admitted that if the TNI had designed something, the other warehouses would not be affected.

"So (the warehouse) of others, we have already designed it, if this is something, this will not be hit," he said.

The warehouse is thought to have been built since 2000.

"This (the cheap Gud area) is from 1987. It's still good, still in 2000," he added.

Previously, it was reported that the TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto emphasized that the explosion at the Paldam Jaya Regional Munition Warehouse (Gud cheap) last night was a storage warehouse for ammunition left over from the exercise or findings and ammunition that had been expired.

"Statically, the ammunition will actually be detonated or disposal, of course, through systematic, examination and so on," said General Agus Subiyanto in his statement, Sunday, March 31.

General Agus explained that the expired ammunition had a mass of up to a maximum of 10 years, including small-caliber munitions (MKK) or large-caliber munitions (MKB).
