SAR Team Continues Search For 3 Victims Of Cipongkor KBB Landslide

The joint SAR team continues to search for three victims who have not been found due to being buried by landslide material in Cibenda Village, Cipongkor District, West Bandung Regency, West Java.

Kasi Operasi dan Siaga Basarnas Bandung Supriono mengatakan operasi pencarian tetap dilaksanakan dengan memperhatikan faktor keselamatan tim SAR gabungan di area lokasi pencarian.

"In this fifth day of search operation, we will still focus on the two point sectors. Our target is three victims in this landslide," Supriono said in West Bandung Regency, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, March 29.

The fourth day of search operation on Thursday (28/3) was stopped due to unfavorable weather factors that could endanger the joint SAR Team.

Supriono said that today's search operation would be increased compared to the previous day. Because the condition of the estimated body is rotten, it is necessary for the joint SAR team to evacuate the victims more quickly.

"Of course, the fifth day of searching has an emphasis on high operations. Why? The victim's condition is certainly damaged and has the potential to spread bacteria and viruses," he said.

He said the joint SAR team is currently only focused on conducting searches in two sectors. Because, based on the point where the last location was lost, the three victims were in the two locations.

"For the victim's position according to the data we assessed earlier, the remaining two victims were in sector one, one victim was in sector two," he said.

Search operations will continue until the landslide emergency response period on April 14 ends.

He added that if all the victims have been found and identified, the SAR operation will automatically be stopped.

"Our search list is in accordance with the emergency response of landslides, but if the victim has been found automatically it doesn't have to be up to 14 days, we have arrived here," said Supriono.
