Starting Today, Argo Bromo Anggrek Trains Will Use New Generation Executive Trains

JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) (KAI) operates the Argo Bromo Anggrek train for Gambir-Surabaya Pasar Turi round-trip (PP) by using the New Generation Executive Train. The operation began today, Friday, March 29.

The New Generation train is part of the procurement of 612 units of the Stainless Steel New Generation train for the 2023-2026 period which was imported from PT INKA (Persero).

"The operation of the New Generation Executive Train is a form of improving KAI services to customers ahead of the 2024 Eid homecoming flow, especially train customers Argo Bromo Anggrek. In the future, we will operate the New Generation Train for other trains in stages," said KAI Vice President Public Relations Joni Martinus quoting Antara.

Previously, KAI had also operated the New Generation Executive Train on the Argo Dwipangga (Gambir-Solo Balapan PP) train since December 13, 2023, the Argo Lawu (Gambir-Solo Balapan PP) train since December 18, 2023, and the Taksaka train (Gambir-Yogyakarta PP) since January 18, 2024.

KAI assesses the superiority of the New Generation Executive Train, including the train entrance and the inter-train connecting door using an automatic electric door. This will make it easier for customers to open or close the door without releasing much energy. The sound of door-opening activities becomes quieter.

"In addition, the passenger information display system (PIDS) available on each train can display information on the nearest station, speed, and room temperature. This PIDS helps create a better travel experience and provides important information for customers during travel," said Joni.

In addition, the New Generation Executive Train window has also been updated to tempered double glass from previously tempered glass so that the level of security is higher, helping to reduce the entry of excess heat and UV light into the room and reducing better noise.

For the need to charge the customer's device, KAI adds a USB charger port to each seat, alongside a socket that is already available on the train wall. The additional charging facilities allow passengers to continue using mobile phone devices, mobile computers, and their smartwatches without worrying about running out of power.

"Another advantage for the Executive Train of New Generation, namely on the toilet where there is a tap at the bottom to wash your feet during ablution. Especially in women's toilets, KAI adds a folding table that functions to seat changing baby diapers," said Joni.

The train in the new generation series was also updated to be more luxurious with premium interiors and furniture. The train is dominated by a touch of wood and a softer, softer dining chair. The same PIDS is also available on the train.

"The train convenience upgrade that KAI is currently doing is part of a commitment to realize a "True and Meaningful Homecoming" during the 2024 Eid transportation period," said Joni as well.
