Deputy Chairperson Of The KPK Claims Not To Know The News Of The Rice Prosecutor's Rp3 Billion Witness
JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Nurul Ghufron admitted that he had not received any information about the prosecutor extorting witnesses of up to Rp. 3 billion. This allegation is reportedly being handled by the KPK Supervisory Board.
"We have not received confirmation or a report from the Council," said Ghufron to reporters at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Thursday, March 28.
Ghufron said his party would wait for reports of the alleged extortion at the leadership table. Because, not only the KPK Council, the prosecutor's team has not provided any reports even though the investigation stage is said to have been carried out.
"All processes from the Council, from the PLPM to then go up to the investigation must be explained in the leadership. (But, red) we have not received that," he said.

Despite waiting, Ghufron emphasized that his party was still trying to trace the news. He did not want any internal employees to commit corrupt practices as had happened before.
It is known that a number of problematic employees at the anti-corruption commission have been handled. Among them, 15 people have been detained for carrying out illegal levies (extortion) at the KPK Detention Center.
"We will also check with human resources (human resources) what the basis is," concluded Ghufron.
