Metro Police Stop Investigation Of 'Noneutral Police' Case, Aiman Witjaksono Takes Back His Cellphone

Polda Metro Jaya has stopped the investigation into the alleged spread of 'non-neutral police' fake news that made Aiman Witjaksono a reported person.

The termination of the handling of the case was conveyed by Ragahdo Yosodiningrat as Aiman Witjaksono's lawyer. The DKI Jakarta High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) has issued a Notice of Termination of Investigation (SP3).

"We received the SP3 letter on March 27, 2024," Ragahdo told VOI, Thursday, March 28.

With the handling of the case stopped, Aiman Witjaksono was able to retrieve his previously confiscated cellphone.

Meanwhile, another attorney for Aiman Witjaksono, Finsensius Mendrofa, said that his client's belongings had been taken today. Not only cellphones, other items, namely the Instagram account @aimanwitjaksono, and the emailaiman.witjaksono @gmail.com.

"We have taken all confiscated items and they have been returned by investigators today," said Finsensius.

As a reminder, this case began when Aiman uploaded a video on his personal Instagram account @aimanwitjaksono who said the police were not neutral in the 2024 election.

With the video, there were parties who made the report. At least, Polda Metro Jaya received six police reports (LP) related to the alleged spread of fake news.

In that report, Aiman Witjaksono is suspected of violating Article 28 paragraph 2 in conjunction with Article 45 Paragraph 2 of Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning ITE and or Article 14 and or Article 15 of Law Number 1 of 1946 concerning Criminal Law Regulations.
