President Jokowi Wants The 2024 Hajj Mission To Be The Best Service
JAKARTA - Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas said President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) asked himself to make the 2024 Hajj Mission the best Hajj service throughout the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet.
"He advised to make the 2024 Hajj mission the best Hajj service during President Jokowi's administration," said the Minister of Religion when closing Saudi Arabia's PPIH Technical Guidance at Pondok Gede Hajj Dormitory, Jakarta, as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, March 27.
Yaqut said the message was conveyed by Jokowi when announcing that Indonesia had received an additional 20 thousand hajj quota for people at this year's Hajj.
According to him, the Indonesian Hajj Pilgrims Satisfaction Index in 2022 will be in the range of 94 percent. So this year it must be above that number. One of the efforts is in the hands of the Hajj officers.

Hajj officers, said Yaqut, must serve the congregation as well as possible and as optimally as possible. There should be no officers who do not carry out their main duties and functions.
"We have given an example. Last year we sent home one Hajj officer who did not carry out his duties. We are not playing games. Because the mandate we carry is not a trust that is playing games," he said.
He said the title that will continue to be used in the 2024 Hajj Mission is the Elderly Friendly Hajj. Hajj officers must not be trapped in the paradigm that serving the elderly and disabled is to carry them.
However, said Yaqut, the service was in the form of a program since arriving at the Hajj dormitory, in the Holy Land, until upon arrival in Indonesia.
"It must be a legislation in the previous year, namely the elderly friendly congregation. Our elderly congregation is 42 thousand, there are still very many. This requires special treatment, both entering the Hajj dormitory, when in the holy land, reaching the homeland," he said.
