Trans Sumatra Toll Road Corruption Case, KPK Searches 2 Locations
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigative team searched two locations related to the investigation into alleged corruption in land acquisition around the Trans Sumatra Toll Road.
"The investigative team on Monday (25/3) conducted a search in two locations, namely the head office of PT HK Persero and PT HKR (a subsidiary of PT HK Persero)," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, March 27.
Ali explained that during the search the investigative team found documents related to land acquisition allegedly related to the case.
"The findings of the document included procurement items allegedly carried out against the law," he said.
The documents were then confiscated by investigators and then studied and confirmed with the witnesses to be included in the case file.
The KPK on Wednesday (13/3) announced the start of an investigation into alleged corruption related to land acquisition around the Trans Sumatra Toll Road.
"Because of indications of state financial losses arising in the land acquisition process around the Trans Sumatra Toll Road carried out by PT HK (Persero), the KPK then followed up by conducting an investigation," said Ali Fikri.
Ali said the KPK had also named a number of parties as suspects with the start of the investigation.

However, in accordance with the policy of the anti-corruption agency, any party designated as suspects and a complete description of the case will be presented when the suspects are detained.
"The full presentation of the case, including the parties named as suspects, will be announced when the process of collecting evidence has been fulfilled," he said.
However, Ali said the progress of the investigation of the case would be conveyed regularly.
The spokesperson for the Corruption Eradication Division also invited the public to oversee the investigation process and asked the public not to hesitate to report to the KPK if they had relevant information related to the case.
"Every development of the case investigation will be conveyed in stages to the public," he said.
