Want To Develop Professional Design Application, Canva Acquires Affinity Platform

JAKARTA Canva, an online graphic design platform, announced that they have acquired the creative software platform Affinity. Acquisition of applications belonging to this Serif company is worth millions of dollars. Through an official announcement shared on Tuesday, March 26, Canva said that the 90-member Affinity team will join the company. However, it is not explained when this merger will take place. Over the last nearly ten years, Canva has focused on developing a platform for 99 percent of workers without design training. Now, they realize that all designers at every level and stage design capabilities need attention. Therefore, Canva acquired Affinity which is considered in line with their vision. Canva and Affinity also share the same belief about professional design software. According to them, this device must be intuitive, affordable, fast, and smooth. "With Affinity, professional designers have access to everything they need at affordable prices and without the complexity of traditional design tools. Together, we are excited to turn their movements into a revolution," said Canva. In addition, Canva believes that the Afffinity vision that wants to pioneer simple, but sophisticated technologies will be compatible with their mission. To date, the Canva mission remains the same, namely empowering the world of design through improved capabilities and offers.

"Just as we've spent the last decade building a complete platform to make visual communication smooth and accessible, Affinity has developed a range of streamline, powerful, and dynamic creative tools," explains Canva. Even though Affinity has been recognized by Canva, the design platform will not change. For now, the name and model of the application will not be changed. Affinity will also remain an application that designers can access for free. However, in the future, the Canva platform will probably be integrated into the Affinity application. Canva has not disclosed their plans because the company will share plans for the use of Affinity's technology as time goes on.
