Kia Thailand Announces EV5 Price, Cheapest IDR 543 Million
JAKARTA - Kia Thailand has announced its official price for its compact SUV, EV5, at the Bangkok International Motor Show (BIMS) which is currently underway.
Kia EV5 made its global debut in August 2023 and was then displayed during the EV9 launch in Thailand.
Quoted from the Paultan page, Wednesday, March 27, Kia EV5, which is a smaller version of EV9, continues to carry the philosophy of the design of the 'Opposites United' brand. This E-GMP-based SUV has characteristics such as a closed goal, a pop-out door handle, and a distinctive lighting 'Star Map' on the front.
This unique design can also be seen from the combination of headlights and back lights, all of which use LED technology and are in the form of 'J' sideways.
The EV5 Kia has a length dimension of 4,615 mm, a width of 1,875 mm, a height of 1,715 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,750 mm. For comparison, the EV6 has a length of 4,680 mm and a wheelbase of 2,900 mm.
Entering the cabin, Kia EV5 is equipped with a dashboard similar to EV9, featuring two combined 12.3-inch screens for instrument clusters and touchscreens for infotainment systems.
For powertrain, there are two versions offered in Thailand, namely the front wheel drive and electric motor with a magnitude of 215 hp and a torque of 310 Nm. With this force, Kia EV5 is able to reach speeds of 0-100 km/h in 8.5 seconds with a maximum speed of 185 km/hour.

As for the battery pack, the Light and Air versions are equipped with a 64.2 kWh lithium-ion unit which provides a range of 490 km according to the NEDC standard. Meanwhile, the Earth variant comes with a battery with a capacity of 88.1 kWh which offers a range of up to 665 km long distance, or 620 km with an Exclusive AWD.
Both of these battery packs take 36 minutes to reach a 10-80 percent charging (SoC) with DC fast charging, with smaller batteries capable of handling up to 102 kW of power while larger batteries can handle up to 141 kW of power.
Regarding prices, Kia EV5 is sold starting from 1,249,000 baths for the standard variant or around Rp. 543 million, and the highest variant is priced at 1,749,000 baths or around Rp. 756 million.
