The Minister Of Home Affairs Affirms That The Government's Support For The KPU In The 2024 Election Is Not An Intervention
JAKARTA - Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Tito Karnavian said the government gave full support to the KPU in holding the 2024 Simultaneous Elections.
According to Tito, the government's support is not a form of intervention against the KPU, but to ensure that the 2024 General Election is held safely, peacefully, and democratically.
"From the start, the government has provided support, not meant to intervene or interfere, but to provide support because the KPU cannot work alone, in a country of this size with a complex problem," said Tito, Monday, March 25.
Tito then explained the forms of government support for the KPU related to the 2024 election. The government, he said, provided population data as the basis for compiling a permanent voter list (DPT) as mandated by Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning Elections.
"(Government support) starting with DAK2 and DP4 population data, providing full access rights to the KPU to go to Dukcapil, pick up the ID card recording ball, electronics, and others," said Tito.
During the campaign period, said Tito, the government is also trying to make the implementation of campaigns for every election participant, both presidential and legislative elections, run safely and equally.
"We also provide support in addition to the TNI/Polri, there is also Linmas there (the implementation of the campaign). Community protection is a network of the Regional Government and Satpol PP," said Tito.

In addition, said Tito, the government also helps election organizers so that printing and distribution of logistics runs safely and smoothly. The support was carried out at the KPU's request to support logistics to remote areas.
"There are also those who even ask for support due to a shortage of operational vehicles. This is also assisted by the regional government and we are asked to help as much as possible," Tito concluded.
