The Number Of Attorneys And Witnesses Is Limited At The 2024 Presidential Election PHPU, This Is What The Chief Justice Of The Constitutional Court Said
JAKARTA - The AMIN and TPN national teams Ganjar Mahfud have filed a lawsuit against the results of the General Election of the President and Vice President to the Constitutional Court (MK). They are preparing to face a hearing on the examination of the General Election Result Dispute (PHPU) in April.
Chairman of the Constitutional Court (MK) Suhartoyo said there were restrictions regarding legal counsel who would enter the courtroom.
The number of attorneys from each party allowed to enter is 10 people, coupled with two principals who in this case are pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates.
"Oh that's limited. 10 each for their attorneys, two principals, a total of 12," Suhartoyo told reporters when checking the 2024 PHPU registration counter at the I MK RI Building, Jakarta, as reported by Antara, Sunday, March 24.
In the event that the presidential and vice presidential candidate pairs are not present, only 10 people are allowed to enter the courtroom. This applies to the applicant, related parties, the KPU as the respondent, as well as Bawaslu as the giver.
"Yes, the same thing, both Bawaslu, KPU, related parties, and applicants," said Suhartoyo.

The witnesses presented at the trial will also be limited. Suhartoyo has not disclosed the maximum number of witnesses who can attend the trial. However, in the previous year's presidential election PHPU, only 15 witnesses were examined.
"Witnesses were limited, last year 15 people. This year, yes, around that," he said.
Based on Constitutional Court Regulation Number 4 of 2023, the applicants in the PHPU for the presidential election are the pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates who are suing the results of the presidential election determined by the KPU. Meanwhile, what is meant by the respondent is the KPU.
Related parties are pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates who have an interest in the petition submitted by the petitioner. In other words, the related parties are the pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates who are the applicants' rivals in the presidential election contestation.
PHPU 2024 registration ends on Saturday (23/3) night. As of Sunday at 15.00 WIB, the total applications recorded on the Constitutional Court's official website were 265 applications, consisting of 2 PHPU applications for the presidential election, 10 PHPU applications for the DPD RI Member Election, and 253 PHPU applications for the Election of Members of the DPR RI.
