Apple Watch Is Difficult To Compatible With Android Devices
JAKARTA Apple has received an antitrust lawsuit from the US Department of Justice (DOJ). The company was sued for its exclusive behavior and difficulty in integrating software and hardware into the iPhone.
After the lawsuit was filed, Apple defended itself and said the lawsuit was not true. The company even disclosed their plans, namely making Apple Watch compatible with Android devices.
Unfortunately, this plan is not easy to do from a technical or strategic point of view. Since its launch, Apple Watch was made especially for iPhone users. In fact, this device is not compatible with the iPad and Mac.
Until now, Apple Watch is still dependent on the iPhone, so DOJ makes it one proof. According to DOJ, the limited device for Apple Watch makes users have no alternative but to buy an iPhone.
"If Apple can direct users to buy Apple Watch, it will be more expensive for these users to buy different types of smartphones," DOJ said in its report, quoted from 9to5google.
However, Apple insists that configurations to Android devices are not as easy as imagined. This project is not worth continuing due to technical limitations. In addition, the Apple Watch system depends on iOS.

Even though there are currently many features from developers who don't need iPhones, the watchOS operating system still relies on iOS. Therefore, it is not easy to enter Android device support into Apple Watch.
If the company wants to include Android support, they have to make a total change. In fact, Apple has to separate watchOS from iOS so that Apple Watch doesn't depend on its devices.
In terms of interests, Apple may feel that the total changes are not worth what they will get. Therefore, they dropped the idea of adding Android support to Apple Watch last year.
