Encourage RI To Be Greener, PLN NP Results 525.62 GWH From Co-firing
JAKARTA - PLN Nusantara Power (PLN NP) presents green energy in Indonesia through various innovations such as co-firing and a new and renewable energy project (EBT) themed Green Energy Movement (GEM).
One of the slick performances of PLN NP is shown through the production of clean energy originating from co-firing throughout 2023 as much as 525.62 GWh or equivalent to reducing carbon emissions by 533,291.79MT. Until now, PLN NP has carried out co-firing continuously at 24 steam power plants (PLTU) spread throughout Indonesia.
Director of Human Capital Management and Administration of PLN Nusantara Power Employee Aji explained the company's direction in developing Renewable Energy in one of the forums.
"In line with the world's enthusiasm in reducing the earth's temperature and as stated in the Paris Agreement, PLN Nusantara Power contributes through the Green Energy Movement," said Aji, Friday, March 22.
Aji said that the Green Energy Movement was realized not only through cofiring the PLTU that had been operating, but also the company's seriousness in building environmentally friendly power plants such as PLTS, hydropower plants, and also PLTB.
In 2023, he continued, PLN NP has succeeded in completing one of the National Strategic Projects (PSN) of the Cirata Floating Solar Power Plant (PLTS) which is the pride of the Indonesian nation. Through this PLTS, we are able to avoid 214,000 tons of co2 every year.
"We also always support smart cities in the State Capital (IKN) through the provision of clean electricity from PLTS IKN 50 MW. Currently we have completed the first 10 MW," added Aji.
The construction of PLTS 50 MW is part of PLN NP's plan to develop new and renewable energy (EBT) in IKN Nusantara. The Indonesian government itself targets IKN Nusantara to use EBT of 80% of its total electricity needs by 2045.

"Through the IKN PLTS, we will be able to avoid 104.8 tons of co2 emissions every year. In the future, many of our projects will be based on EBT," added Aji.
President Director of PLN Nusantara Power Ruli Firmansyah also conveyed the focus and corporate plans in realizing green energy.
PLN NP itself has moved to map Indonesia's needs in the future. Until 2030 we will prepare an additional 6.3 Giga Watt (GW) generating unit from an EBT generator spread across the archipelago," concluded Ruly.
