Facing Election Disputes, KPU Ensures To Maintain Recapitulation Results Win Prabowo-Gibran
JAKARTA - Member of the Indonesian General Elections Commission (KPU) Idham Holik emphasized that his party will maintain the results of the 2024 election votes set for Wednesday, March 20, to face the Dispute over General Election Results (PHPU) at the Constitutional Court (MK).
"Of course, as election organizers, we will maintain the results of the vote that was set nationally last night at 22.19 WIB," said Idham, at the Indonesian KPU Office, Jakarta, Thursday, March 21.
This, according to him, is the principle of election organizers containing an accountability element. In addition, according to him, the vote counting recapitulation process has also been carried out in stages, openly and participatively.
"We firmly believe that the process has fulfilled the element of accountability," he asserted.
Previously, the Indonesian KPU appointed the pair of Presidential and Vice Presidential Candidates for the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka as the elected presidential-Cawapres pair in the 2024 presidential election.
The determination is contained in KPU Decree Number 360 of 2024 concerning the Determination of the results of the General Election of the President and Vice President, Members of the House of Representatives, Regional Representative Council, Provincial Regional House of Representatives, and National Regional House of Representatives/City in the General Election in 2024.
"The results of the national general election as referred to in the First Dictum to the Fifth Dictum are set on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at 22.19 minutes WIB," said Chairman of the Indonesian KPU Hasyim Asy'ari, at the Indonesian KPU Building, Jakarta, Wednesday night.
Hasyim revealed that the Prabowo-Gibran pair won 96,214,691 votes. Meanwhile, he said, the Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar pair received 40,971,906 votes, while the Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD pair got 27,040,878 votes.
The total valid ballots, according to him, amounted to 164,227,475 votes.
The 2024 presidential election was attended by three pairs, namely Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar as candidate pair number 1, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka candidate pair number 2, and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MDpaslon number 3.
In accordance with KPU Regulation Number 3 of 2022, the recapitulation of the 2024 General Election is scheduled to take place from February 15 to March 20, 2024.

It is stated in Article 475 paragraph (1) of Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning General Elections that in the event of a dispute over the vote acquisition of the Presidential and Vice Presidential Elections, candidate pairs can object to the Constitutional Court within three days after the KPU's determination of the results of the Presidential and Vice Presidential Elections.
The inauguration of the elected candidate pair as President and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia is scheduled for October 20, 2024. Previously, October 1, 2024, the inauguration of candidates for the elected members of the DPR RI and DPD RI was scheduled.
