Group F Standings For The 2026 World Cup Qualification After The Indonesian National Team Gilas Vietnam

JAKARTA The position of the Indonesian national team rose to second place in the Group F standings for the 2026 World Cup Qualification in the Asian Zone after defeating Vietnam.

The Garuda squad narrowly won 1-0 against The Golden Stars in the third match of Group F at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK), Thursday, March 21, 2024, WIB night.

The Indonesian national team's winning single goal came seven minutes after the two teams returned from the dressing room. This only goal was netted by Egy Maulana Vikri.

The three additional points make Indonesia now in second place in Group F standings with four points. They have packed one win, one draw, and one loss.

One draw was previously obtained during an away match against the Philippines. Meanwhile, one defeat occurred during a visit to Iraqi headquarters.

Indonesia's position is now behind Iraq, which has collected six points thanks to two wins, each against the Indonesian and Vietnamese national teams.

Vietnam is now in third place. Philippe Troussier's side have only collected three points thanks to one win.

After this, Indonesia still has to play three more matches. First, the Garuda Squad will undergo an away match to Vietnam headquarters on Tuesday, March 26, 2024.

The following two matches are all home matches. Starting against Iraq on June 6, 2024 and clashes against the Philippines five days later.

To qualify for the next round, the Indonesian national team must complete the second round of the 2026 World Cup Qualification in the top two places.
