Paris 2024 Olympic Football Draw Results: U-23 Asian Cup Winners Will Meet Israel

JAKARTA - The draw for the soccer sport (sports) for the 2024 Paris Olympics has been completed on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, Indonesian Western Time (WIB) night.

The draw shows that the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup winners will enter Group D with Israel, Paraguay, and Mali.

At the 2024 Paris Olympics, football will start rolling from July 24 to August 9, 2024, which 16 participants participated in. However, until now there have only been 12 countries that have confirmed tickets.

These countries are Argentina, the Dominican Republic, Egypt, France, Israel, Mali, Morocco, New Zealand, Paraguay, Spain, Ukraine, and the United States.

Three of the remaining four tickets for the 2024 Paris Olympics will be contested in the U-23 Asian Cup. The tournament will be held in Qatar from April 15 to May 3, 2024. The U-23 Indonesian national team also participated in the event.

Meanwhile, one ticket to Paris will be contested in the AFC-CAF intercontinental playoffs.

Interestingly, the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup winners will enter Group D which is inhabited by Paraguay, Mali, and Israel. This means that if the U-23 Indonesian national team wins the U-23 Asian Cup, Shin Tae-yong's team will fight Israel in Group D.

Then, the runners-up team of the U-23 Asian Cup will automatically occupy an empty slot in Group C with Spain, Egypt, and the Dominican Republic.

Finally, the third-ranked team of the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup will join Group B with Argentina, Morocco, and Ukraine.

Meanwhile, the winning team for the intercontinental Asian and African playoffs will enter Group A with France, the United States, and New Zealand.
