Announce Investigation Of LPEI Corruption Cases, KPK Has Not Pocketed The Name Of The Suspect
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has announced that it is conducting an investigation into allegations of corruption at the Indonesian Export Financing Agency (LPEI). However, they have not yet pocketed the names of suspects, such as other cases handled.
"(Just now, red) candidates (suspects, ed). There are (candidates for suspects, ed)," said KPK Deputy Chair Alexander Marwata to reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Tuesday, March 19.
Even so, Alexander stated that this case had gone up to investigation after it was decided in the case title forum. The investigation was carried out first after the anti-corruption commission received a report on May 10, 2023.
Alexander ensured that the KPK would coordinate with the Attorney General's Office (AGO) who had just received a report from the Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani. This is actually a synergy too, meaning that there should be no duplication of cases between law enforcers," he said.
... Of course we will coordinate with the AGO who received the Ministry of Finance's report. What we already have and we have explored, if the object is the same, yes, we will definitely handle it later," continued Alexander.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chairperson of the KPK, Nurul Ghufron, asked other law enforcement officers not to investigate the same case. He said this was in accordance with Article 50 of the KPK Law Number 19 of 2019.

Ghufron said, after the KPK conducted an investigation, the police and the prosecutor's office had to stop the ongoing process in the same case. However, he denied that this announcement was made to seize the case.
"Maybe it's said to be urgent, yes, please. Your perspective. But as at the beginning, we want to respond to the Ministry of Finance's report to the Attorney General's Office even though we are in the process of being investigated as well as receiving reports from last year," he concluded.
