KTM And Brabus Collaboration Continues To Apply For New Motor Patent, Model 1400 R?

JAKARTA - In the last two years, the Brabus tuning company collaborated with KTM to present special edition motorcycles such as 1300 R, which is the latest version of the 1290 Super Duke R.

In September last year, the two companies launched the Brabus 1300 R Masterpiece Edition, which is available at only 50 units in the world. However, it looks like the two companies are planning to launch one new bike.

Reporting from Rideapart, Monday, March 18, KTM and Brabus have filed a new patent with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) indicating that they will present a 1400 R model.

This motorbike will take the base of the latest 1390 Super Duke R. Furthermore, both intend to present it in three variants on the Brabus 1400 R.

In the patent filing, they hinted at the name 'Racket Brabus 1400 R' which means it's a high-performance motor that prioritizes the above performance compared to others. The name 'Rerocket' was also presented to the Mercedes car developed by Brabus.

Then, there is another name, the Brabus 1400 R Signature' which can be assumed to be a luxury variant with an elegant color scheme. Finally, there is the name Brabus 1400 R Tailor Made which is a special type according to customer preferences.

Unfortunately, this is only a rumor and further specifications and details are not yet known. Meanwhile, Brabus declined to comment on the news.

Given that the patent filing was filed this month, it is likely that 1400 R will be out of production towards the end of 2024.
