COVID-19 Update As Of March 2: 5.712 New Cases From Examination Of 33.174 Specimens

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 33.174 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 5.712 new positive cases of COVID-19.

The province with the newest cases is in West Java with 1.654 cases and a total of 214.528 cases. Followed by Central Java, which has 984 new cases with a total of 154.669 cases. DKI Jakarta has 587 new cases and a total of 342.371 cases. Then, East Java has 412 new cases and a total of 130.212 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to West Java with an increase of 2.239 recovered cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta with an additional 2.068 recovered cases, Central Java with an additional 820 recovered cases, and East Kalimantan with an additional 578 recovered cases.

There is one province that reported no new cases as of today. The province that reported zero new cases is North Maluku.

In addition, the number of specimens examined by the RT-PCR method reached 10.868.049. Meanwhile, the specimens examined using the antigen rapid test were 7.243.182.

"The cumulative positive result per number of people examined or a positivity rate of 18.6 percent", he wrote.

For the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, it was recorded at 73.977. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.

Furthermore, currently, there are 1.935.478 people who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 1.047.288 vaccines in the second dose. Meanwhile, the total vaccination targets reached 181.554.465 people.
