KPK Denies Hasto About Harun Masiku Victim: There Are No Facts About The Law

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) responded to the Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto who called the suspected briber of the former General Election Commission (KPU) Commissioner Wahyu Setiawan, Harun Masiku as a victim. This statement is considered wrong. "This statement was conveyed in a special interview program that was broadcast on the YouTube Liputan6 account. He said that Harun, who until now was unknown, was actually entitled to a seat in parliament in accordance with the decision of the Supreme Court (MA). He was able to replace the elected candidate who died in the 2019 Legislative Election (Pileg). However, Harun recently chose to give money because he was asked by an individual. "So he was tempted to be categorized as a bribe," said Hasto, quoted from the special interview. Previously, Harun was a suspect in giving bribes to former KPU Commissioner Wahyu Setiawan. This giving was made so that he could sit as a member of the DPR through interimponding (PAW).

Harun then became a fugitive and has been on the wanted list (DPO) since January 29, 2020. Most recently, the KPK informed that the National Central Bureau (NCB) of Interpol Indonesia had issued a red notice on behalf of Harun Masiku on Friday, July 30, 2023.
