Obscene Minors, Men From Lubuk Basung West Sumatra Arrested
AGAM - Agam Resort Police, West Sumatra arrested a man with the initials RW (47), a resident of Jorong II Garagahan, Nagari (Village) Garagayan, Lubuk Basung District for allegedly molesting a minor. Agam Police Chief AKBP Muhammad Agus Hidayat, said the perpetrator was arrested by residents in Bancah Paku Jorong II Garagahan, Nagari Garangahan, Lubuk Basung District on Saturday (16/3) night around 21.30 WIB. "The perpetrator has been arrested by local residents on Saturday night and handed over to us," Agus said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, March 18. He said that the arrest of the suspect began with a public report with registration number LP/B/13/ III/2024/SAT RESKRIM/POLDAS AGAM/POLDA SUMBAR dated March 16, 2024, that there had been an alleged criminal act of molestation against minors. Then the Opsnal Team Sat Reskrim Polres Agam conducted an investigation of the perpetrators. After that the Opsnal team received information that the RW perpetrators had been secured by residents in Bancah Paku, Jorong II Garugahan, Nagari Garagahan, Lubuk Basung District. Then the members went straight to Bancah Paku, Nagari Garanggahan and secured the alleged perpetrators.

"The perpetrator admitted his actions and was brought to the Agam Police Headquarters for further processing," he said. For his actions, the perpetrator was charged with Article 76D in conjunction with Article 81 paragraph (2) or Article 76E in conjunction with Article 82 paragraph (1) of Law Number 35 of 2014 concerning Amendments to Law Number 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection in conjunction with Law Number 17 of 2016 concerning Stipulation of Government Regulation in Lieu of Law Number 1 of 2016 concerning Second Amendment to Law Number 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection with a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison.
