As Many As 100 Pilgrims Participate In Ramadan's Suluk Worship In Aceh Besar

BANDA ACEH- As many as 100 people from various regions in Aceh Province and various ages attended the worship of Ramadan 1445 Hijriah or 2024 AD in Dayah Darul Aman, Gampong Lampuuk Tungkop, Darussalam District, Aceh Besar District.

"This year there are 100 people participating in the contrusion congregation, an increase from the previous year which was only 80 people. We carry out this form of worship every year every Ramadan fasting month since 2008," said Deputy Chairperson of Dayah Darul Aman Tgk Saifullah in Aceh Besar, Sunday.

Suluk is a worship with the main activities of remembrance. Remembrance is done day and night. With many words reaching 70 thousand times. Pilgrims think in their hearts and sometimes there are those who cover their heads with cloth to focus on carrying out saluk worship.

This form of worship began to develop in Aceh in the 1970s which was brought by Abuya Sjech Muda cleric Waly Al Khalidi. Furthermore, this suluk worship was distributed by Abuya Sjech Muda Waly's students to various regions in Aceh Province.

"This character is an act of getting closer to each other and increasing piety to Allah SWT. Worship is also a practice of repenting. Moreover, every individual congregation is obliged to take a bath before carrying out the holigious worship," he said.

According to Tgk Saifullah, worship is not limited in age. Anyone can take part in suluk worship, including in Dayah Darul Aman. Usually worshipers of glorification are dominated by over 50 years of age, both men and women.

Tgk Saifullah said that during the time of worship there were 30 days, there were also 40 days. During the holigation of suluk, there are many food taboos, especially those that can increase emotions and lust.

"Congregants in Dayah Darul Aman are not allowed to eat foods that contain fat, meat, and others, because they can increase lust. So, the suluk pilgrims in this village only eat vegetables or what is commonly called vegetarians," he said.

Regarding the consumption and accommodation of the congregation, Tgk Saifullah said that each person was charged Rp. 110 thousand and five kilograms of rice per 10 days. Food is provided by the pesantren public kitchen.

"In addition to consumption and accommodation, the committee has also prepared a medical team to be in case there are pilgrims whose health conditions have decreased. Moreover, most of the elderly pilgrims," said Tgk Saifullah.

Meanwhile, Zilva, a convex congregation at Dayah Darul Aman, said she was motivated to follow the holigatory service to get closer and hope for the pleasure of Allah SWT.

"This is the second time I have participated in the sub-dept. I feel comfortable participating in the sub-dept. in Dayah Darul Aman because it is separated between men and women," said Zilva, who is also the teacher.

Senada juga diungkapkan Hafizatun Nufus, jamaah sulul lainnya. Dirinya mengikuti ibadah suluk untuk membantukan pembilahan, terutama selama bulan susah Ramadhan dan meningkatkan ketaqwaan kepada Allah SWT.

"This form of worship is new to what I have followed. I am motivated to follow the contoh prayer to increase practice in the fasting month. And the most important thing is to get the pleasure of Allah SWT," said Hafizatun Nufus, who is also a new student, completing his higher education.
