Coordination With BBWS, Demak Regency Government Overcome Jebol And Limpas Embankments

The Demak Regency Government of Central Java coordinates with the Pemali Juana Regional Center (BBWS) consistently to overcome the problem of broken embankments in a number of river flows, including river water that overflows in a number of areas in Demak Regency. In addition, coordination and communication are also carried out with the Central Government and Central Java Province.

"Demak Regency is passed by several large rivers, such as the Tuntang River, Dombo, Jajar, Wulan, Wonokerto, Setu River, and Dolog River. All of these rivers are under the authority of the Central Government, so it is necessary to coordinate with related parties," said Regent Demak Eisti'anah as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, March 16.

Meanwhile, the river flow is under the authority of the district government, he said, periodic rehabilitation of channels is carried out. Including the strengthening of the Wulan River embankment in Hamlet Norowito, Ketanjung Village, Karanganyar District, said Eisti'anah, his party also coordinated with BBWS.

"It was recorded that tens of heavy equipment were deployed to strengthen and raise the Wulan River embankment, following the increasing water discharge," he said.

He hopes that with the alerting of a number of heavy equipment, when things happen that are not desirable can be handled immediately, so that the broken river embankment case does not happen again.

Only, he said, for now the concentration of handling is not only in Norowito Hamlet, including broken river embankments and runoffs due to flooding that occurred until Saturday, March 16, which is increasingly widespread in 72 villages spread across 10 sub-districts.

"Among them in the Bogel River also experience runoff, including in Tugu Ngemplik Village, Karanganyar District, as well as runoff," he said.

"The Demak Regency Government also provided assistance in Tambirejo Village because there was a broken embankment that entered the rice fields, so it was assisted by trucks, paded soil, and plastic sacks," he said.

"Meanwhile, the problem of embankments in the Dombo River, BBWS has also prepared an excavator, while in Pramplan Village (Sayung District) it is waiting for the discharge to decrease because the debt to be sucked in with the disposal pump is still high, so waiting for the disposal conditions to begin to recede," he said.

Marsono, the field implementer for strengthening the Wulan River embankment in Dukuh Norowito, admitted that the Wulan River embankment was deployed in various types of heavy equipment, including amphibious excavators and standard excavators.

Obstacles faced, he said, were related to the frequent rainy weather, because in the process it had to make road access considering that the existing road was cut off when the embankment broke.
