Soldiers Throw Racist Insults To Black, Singaporean Military Threatens Strict Sanctions

JAKARTA - The Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) conducted an investigation into the viral upload containing photos of SAF soldiers accompanied by a narrative of racist insults.

Citing The Straits Times, the upload on social media via Instagram Story shows six soldiers with face-to-face camouflage posing holding a gun against a forest area background.

The upload was accompanied by statements of identical racist insults used to demean black people in the country.

"Chiong sua n*****s," wrote the description of the upload.

Currently, the Instagram account that posted the upload is locked or private. The Instagram profile account photo was deleted.

Responding to the viral upload, the Singapore Ministry of Defense emphasized that SAF maintains high standards of discipline and integrity for each SAF soldier.

The upload was also explained without permission for violating regulations taken in prohibited areas, including SAF military camps and training areas.

SAF also did not justify racist and abusive insults by his soldiers.

"SAF... will take appropriate disciplinary action against those found to have violated regulations or been involved in violations," the Singapore Ministry of Defense said.
