Allegedly Wanting To Kill President Maduro, Two Venezuelans Arrested

JAKARTA - Two Venezuelan nationals were detained in Monagas State for causing threats and planning to kill Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, Venezuelan Attorney General Tarek William Saab said.

"Two people were detained on March 11... for uploading a very serious threat, once again inciting an attempt to kill President Nicolas Maduro Moros while in Maturin," Saab said in a video published on the prosecutor's office's social media reported by ANTARA from Anadolu, Thursday, March 14.

"Those detained are Renzo Flores, the former sergeant who left Venezuelan national guard and Whillfer Jose Pina, a member of the Together for Monagas political organization from Venezuela's left-wing political party Radical Cause," he said.

Examination of their cell phones indicates they are discussing a plan to recruit 50 soldiers to seize weapons and organize an uprising, he said.

"The Venezuelan prosecutor's office plans to sue both of them on suspicion of criminal conspiracy and attempted murder," Saab said.
