I'm Well! Platform 11 And 12 Manggarai Station Escalators Open Again

JAKARTA - The escalator facilities for platforms 11 and 12 at Manggarai Station have been reopened to serve KRL users.

Previously, the escalator was closed for almost a month due to repairs made.

Head of the Jakarta Class I Railway Engineering Center (BTP Jakarta), Ferdian Suryo Adhi Pramono, stated that his party had completed the repair of the escalator. Including following up on the results of the examination test during repairs.

Ferdian explained that the examination test was carried out in order to find out thoroughly regarding the improvements needed to ensure that the escalator could function optimally.

"We have followed up on directions from the results of the examination test conducted in collaboration with the Work Safety and Health Services Company (PJK3) registered with the Ministry of Manpower, and currently the escalator has been re-functioned," said Ferdian in an official statement received by VOI, in Jakarta, Thursday, March 14.

Some of the activities that have been carried out as a follow-up form of the results of the examination test include the driving components of the escalator.

In addition to the improvements that need to be done, PJK3 also suggested that operators pay attention to regular maintenance and regulate the flow capacity of passengers who use the escalator in question.

After the treatment is completed, Ferdian hopes that the community who use train services who are active at Manggarai Station can be served well.

"We apologize for the inconvenience that had been felt by passengers due to this treatment activity," said Ferdian.

As a precautionary measure in the future, Ferdian also said that he would conduct tests on all elevator and escalator devices at six stations, namely Manggarai, Matraman, Jatinegara, Bekasi, Tambun, and Cikarang which are still in the responsibility of BTP Jakarta.

Ferdinan said the activity would be followed by treatment in the form of overhaul or reconditioning of elevators and escalators that needed repairs.

"The approval regarding the maintenance budget was approved last week and we will immediately follow up with the mechanism applicable in the Procurement of Government Goods/Services," said Ferdian.

Ferdian also said that a joint discussion had been held with PT KAI (Persero) and PT KCI as operators related to station management.

"The discussion aims to be able to further streamline services and of course in order to maximize services for passengers at commuter stations that are below the scope of the Jakarta BTP supervision area," he said.
