JAKARTA - Nathan Tjoe-A-On has officially become an Indonesian citizen (WNI) after taking oaths and pledges of allegiance at the Special Class I Immigration Office (Kanim) TPI Soekarno-Hatta on Monday, March 11, 2024.
"Nathan has also been processed to get a passport and ID card as an Indonesian citizen. One more step is to take care of the transfer of the federation so that Nathan can defend the Indonesian national team."
"Thank you for the support of all the institutions that helped the process go well," said PSSI General Chair Erick Thohir.
After becoming an Indonesian citizen, the player who is currently joining SC Heerenveen club has a great opportunity to make his debut with the Indonesian national team against Vietnam in the 2026 Asian Zone World Cup Qualification.

Then, the second meeting was held at the headquarters of Vietnam, My Dinh Stadium, on Tuesday, March 26, 2024.
Nathan's name was actually already in the squad when Shin Tae-yong released 28 players to face the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers.
Apart from that, Nathan's naturalization coincided with Jay Idzes. However, the 22-year-old defender was delayed from taking his oath because his club, Swansea City, could not let him go.
Currently, Nathan has been loaned to SC Heerenveen from January 2024 until the end of this season. He joined Thom Haye, whose naturalization will soon be completed.
With Heerenveen, Nathan has only had one chance to play as a substitute.
