"Alhamdulillah, I was able to win today, avenge last week's defeat at the French Open," said Dejan, quoted from an official statement from the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) in Jakarta, Tuesday.

Dejan said this victory was thanks to his hard work with Gloria and also the coach who kept looking for an accurate strategy to beat Jiang/Wei.

"We are more prepared all of them today after discussing with the coach because we feel that our gap with the opponent is not too far away, the increase is almost the same. So who is better prepared, that will win in my opinion," he added.

The 24-year-old also said his win was because he in the match played with high confidence by taking advantage of every gap.

"I try not to hesitate, when the ball rises I take advantage of the smash which is my advantage, especially since the speed of the ball here is quite fast. I am grateful to get a lot of points," he said.

Meanwhile, Gloria said the same thing, who said that this victory was thanks to her evaluation with Dejan and the coach of the defeat at the French Open.

"Because of the mistakes from last week, today I really evaluated myself, then chatted with Dejan, with the coach, what was the solution. The most important thing is to strengthen his focus and play more neatly," said Gloria.

In the round of 16, the world number 19 mixed doubles will face the winner of the duel between two British pair Gregory Mairs/Jenny Mairs against Marcus Ellis/Lauren Smith.
