Basarnas Still Searching For Overturned Ship Victims
JAKARTA - The Jakarta Search and Rescue Office (Basarnas) said the joint team is still carrying out efforts to search for victims of KM Pari Kudus which capsized in the waters of Rambut Island, Thousand Islands, Monday (11/3).
"Today we conducted a search on the second day looking for missing victims. We divided into three teams to search," said Head of the Jakarta Search and Rescue Office (Basarnas), Desiana Kartika Bahari in Jakarta, Tuesday.
He said the three crews had been given coordinates to search for victims of Taiwanese nationals who had been missing since the ship capsized.
In addition, his party in addition to conducting searches on sea level also dispatched a team of divers who conducted underwater searches.
"Our divers, some are equipped with underwater sonar. We will deploy personnel according to sea wave conditions," he said.

Basarnas targets this search to be completed by Tuesday afternoon with the record that the victim can be found by officers.
"We are still trying to search for these victims," he said.
Previously, the Head of the Operations Section (Kasiop) of the DKI Jakarta Basarnas, Agung Priambodo, stated that his party had deployed seven ships to be deployed to search for foreigners from Taiwan who had disappeared in the waters of Rambut Island, Thousand Islands.
"This morning we searched for victims of KM Pari Kudus overturned in the waters of Pulau Rambut on Monday (yesterday) afternoon," said Head of the DKI Jakarta Basarnas, Agung Priambodo.
He said there were 80 to 100 joint personnel who were moving to look for victims in the waters. He mentioned seven ships deployed belonging to Basarnas, TNI AL, the police, North Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. and the Thousand Islands and others.
In addition, ships from Asha Resort were also involved in the search for victims.
"We have been moving since 07.00 WIB looking for missing victims," he said.
