Injury, Ederson Absent From Defending Manchester City And The Brazilian National Team

JAKARTA - Manchester City confirmed goalkeeper Ederson Moraes was forced to miss a month due to a thigh injury during the match against Liverpool on Sunday (10/3).

AFP on Tuesday reported that The Citizen will miss three important games without the Brazil main goalkeeper, including against Newcastle on Sunday (17/3), Arsenal (31/3) and Aston Villa on (6/4).

"It looks like his condition is not good," said Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola.

The match against Arsenal, which was held at Ettihad later this month, is an important match for Manchester City who are one point behind the Gunners, who temporarily topped the Premier League standings.

However, reserve goalkeeper Steffan Ortega said he was ready to advance as the main goalkeeper to replace Ederson in these important matches.

"This is an opportunity for me when he is injured. I am ready as usual," said Ortega. "It was a special moment to appear in a big game because the whole world was watching him. It gave him a happy feeling."

"I enjoy every second," said the 31-year-old goalkeeper.

Ederson has also been dropped from the Brazilian national team ahead of the friendly against England at Wembley Stadium (24/3) and Spain at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium (27/3).
