Ministry Of Law And Human Rights: 1,642 Prisoners And 8 Inmates Get Nyepi Remission 2024
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) said that 1,642 prisoners who are Hindus received special remissions (RK) for Nyepi Day 2024. Of the thousands of inmates, 6 of them were officially released.
"1,636 people received RK I (or partial reduction) and 6 people received RK II (direct release)," said Head of the Public Relations Working Group, Deddy Eduar Eka Saputra in his statement, Monday, March 11.
Of the thousands of prisoners who received special remission, most were in the auspices of the Regional Office (Kanwil) of the Bali Ministry of Law and Human Rights. The number reached 1,193 people.
"Central Kalimantan as many as 99 people, and West Nusa Tenggara as many as 74 people," he said.

In addition, there were also 8 fostered children who received reductions in the Criminal Period or PMP. Where, 7 of them received partial reductions or PMP I and the remaining were immediately declared free.
The children who received the PMP Special Nyepi 2024 came from the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights in Bali as many as 4 people, South Sumatra as many as 2 people, and East Java and Southeast Sulawesi with 1 person each.
"The amount of food savings for inmates and assisted children after receiving RK Nyepi in 2024 and PMP for Nyepi in 2024 is IDR 812,430,000," said Deddy.
Based on the correctional database system as of March 4, 2024, the number of prisoners, children, prisoners, and children assisted throughout Indonesia is 269,605 people.
The details are 50,154 prisoners, 469 children, 217,390 prisoners, and 1,592 children.
