Logistics Carrier Sinks In Labuan Bajo
LABUAN BAJO - A logistics carrier carrying as many as four passengers drowned in the Seture Labuan Bajo Waters, West Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Province.
"There were no fatalities in this ship accident," said Head of the Maumere Basarnas Office, Supriyanto Ridwan, quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, March 9.
Supriyanto explained that at 16.30 WITA the West Manggarai SAR Post Team received information that a ship accident occurred in Seture Labuan Bajo waters, which is about 2.73 nautical miles from the ASDP Port of Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai Regency.
The ship made a voyage to test the engine of the ship that had just been installed. The ship moves from the waters of Binongko Labuan Bajo to Bidadari Island Labuan Bajo.

When crossing the waters between Bidadari Island and Seture Island, he continued, the ship was hit by strong winds and waves of about 2-3.5 meters which caused the ship to run aground and sink.
"All passengers rely on buoys and jerry cans to Seture Island to save themselves," he explained.
The Joint SAR team using the West Manggarai SAR Rigid Inflatable Boats (RIB) and the Labuan Bajo Sea Rider KSOP arrived at Seture Island at around 17.10 WITA and evacuated the victims.
"We evacuated the four passengers to the Labuan Bajo KSOP Port, the condition of all passengers when evacuated was quite weak," he said.
