BPBD Probolinggo Evacuates Flooded Residents In Dringu
ProBOLINGGO - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Probolinggo, East Java evacuated dozens of residents who were flooded in two villages in Dringu District with a height of more than one meter.
Moderate to high intensity rain that flushed Probolingo Regency for several hours caused the Kedungdalem River to overflow, flooding residential areas in Kedungdalem Village and Dringu Village, Dringu District.
"The joint team evacuated residents to a safer place, namely the Dringu District Office and the local health center for residents who complained of illness," said Head of BPBD Probolinggo Regency Oemar Sjarief as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, March 9.
According to him, dozens of residents, especially the elderly (elderly) and children and their mother, were evacuated to a safer place, but there were also residents who had fled to their relatives' homes that were safe from flooding.
"In the Dringu District office, there were about 20 people who fled and some were evacuated to the puskesmas for residents who were sick," he said.
