JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) ensures optimal service readiness at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. Especially in dealing with passenger transportation of the homecoming flow ahead of the month of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 1445 Hijri.
The Director General of Civil Aviation of the Ministry of Transportation M Kristi Endah Murni said that he checked and monitored directly at terminals 1, 2 and 3 of Soekarno International Airport - Hatta in the context of long holidays and air transportation ahead of Ramadan and Eid.
"Based on the overall monitoring results, it runs safely and smoothly. In the drop-off area, we observed an increase in queues due to a surge in passengers during the peak season," Kristi said, quoting Antara.
Kristi said the latest data began to surge in passengers at the airport. There were 998 flights that took place with a total of 161,682 passengers.
Overcoming the surge in passengers, Kristi ordered airport officials in the drop-off area to be added to avoid long queues. In addition, most of the current check-in counters will only function as a place to put baggage.
Passengers can check-in online and self-check-in through available machines. In addition, it is necessary to place officers who help passengers who still need assistance. It is hoped that this can increase efficiency and reduce queues," he explained.
Kristi also took the time to check toilet facilities in public areas that would be widely used by passengers. "It is very important to ensure that toilet facilities function properly and maintain cleanliness," said Kristi.
