KPU Decides To Re-vote In Kuala Lumpur Sunday 10 March, Canceled 2 Days
The General Elections Commission (KPU) decided to hold a re-voting (PSU) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in just one day, namely Sunday (10/3).
This is stated in Decree (SK) Number 299 of 2024 concerning Amendments to KPU Number 280 of 2024 concerning Stages and Schedules for Re-voting at Indonesian Representatives in Kuala Lumpur for the 2024 General Election.
The policy was signed by the Chairman of the Indonesian KPU Hasyim Asy'ari on March 2, 2024.
The decree revised the date of the PSU in Kuala Lumpur which was originally planned to take place for two days, namely Saturday (9/3) for the mobile ballot box (KSK) method and Sunday (10/3/2024) for direct voting at the polling station (TPS).
"It is necessary to make adjustments to the provisions of the PSU stages and schedule for representatives of the Republic of Indonesia in Kuala Lumpur," the decree reads as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, March 8.
Previously, member of the General Elections Commission (KPU) Idham Holik said his party had obtained permission from the Malaysian Government to hold a re-voting (PSU) in Kuala Lumpur, Sunday (10/3).
"God willing, on Sunday, March 10, 2024, the PSU in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia can be held," said Idham in Jakarta, Friday.
He explained that the permit was obtained after the KPU and the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur met with officials from the Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Malaysian government also facilitates the licensing of places and security.
"Yes, the KPU team, including me, met with officials from the Malaysian foreign ministry," he said.
Idham revealed that the PSU in Kuala Lumpur will be held at the Son of the World Trade Center (PWTC), Kuala Lumpur, Sunday (10/3).
"The plan for a foreign polling station (TPSLN) is at the Son of the World Trade Center," he said.
The selection of the PSU location in Kuala Lumpur is the same as the first implementation of the 2024 General Election.

The method that will be used has also been approved by the Malaysian government. Then regarding logistics, the KPU believes everything will be fulfilled.
"Allowed, 120 KSK points have been given permission and security will be facilitated later. God willing, all logistics will be met," said Idham.
The KPU set a permanent overseas voter list (DPTLN) for re-voting in Kuala Lumpur reaching 62,217 people consisting of 42,372 TPSLN voters and 19,845 KSK voters.
