Appeal Rejected, Persib Vs Persija Match Officially Without Spectators

JAKARTA - The PSSI Appeal Committee (Komding) has rejected the appeal filed by Persib Bandung. This means that the Maung Bandung vs Persija meeting at Si Jalak Harupat Stadium on Saturday, March 9, 2024, was officially held without spectators.

Persib Bandung vs Persija Jakarta is scheduled to clash in the 28th week of Liga 1 2023/2024.

Persib had previously made an appeal so that the match could be held with spectators. The appeal was filed because Persib was sentenced to one match without spectators by the PSSI Disciplinary Commission (Komdis).

This happened in the aftermath of the chaos that occurred in the previous match against PSIS Semarang. In that match, there was a clash between the police officers and the visitors' supporters.

Previously, the Vice President of Operations of PT Persib Bandung Dignity (PBB), Andang Ruhiat, said that he had filed an appeal note numbered 05/DIR-PBB/III/2024. The appeal was filed because his team objected to the sanctions imposed by Komdis PSSI.

"Today Persib has sent a letter of application to the PSSI Appeal Committee. We hope that the Appeal Committee can grant Persib's request to cancel the sanctions of the PSSI Disciplinary Committee," said Andang, on Tuesday, March 5, 2024.

The appeal letter then received an answer from the PSSI Komding with the result being rejected. In the reply letter, Komding decides two things.

First, rejecting Persib's appeal and reasons. Then, the second one upheld the decision of the PSSI Disciplinary Committee.

"Rejecting the appeal and appeal of the Persib Bandung club numbered: 05/DIR-PBB/III/2024, March 3, 2024 for the whole. Strengthening the PSSI Disciplinary Committee Decree numbered: 191/L1/SK/KD-PSSI/III/2024, March 1, 2024 for the whole," the letter read, quoted on Friday, March 8, 2024.

Persib Bandung vs Persija Jakarta match is confirmed without spectators. Both teams need an additional three points to continue to ensure they can be in the 2023/2024 League 1 Championship Series.

Persib is currently in second place with a score of 48 out of 27 matches. Meanwhile, Persija is in ninth place with 35 points.
