The Inauguration Of AHY As Minister Is Called A Form Of Consolidation Of Power, Hasto PDIP: Jokowi Was-was

Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto assessed that President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) was wary of post-election conditions in 2024. Thus, he consolidated, one way of which was to inaugurate Chairman of the Democratic Party Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) as Minister of ATR/BPN.

"That's part of the consolidation of power. The point is it's strange that the election has not been completed but the power consolidation continues. It seems that there is a sense of anxiety," Hasto told reporters in Depok quoted on Friday, March 8.

Hasto said that this kind of power consolidation, especially when it comes to division of positions, should not be carried out. Because, there is an impression that Jokowi wants to suppress critical votes in parliament by embracing all parties.

In fact, this kind of voice is needed according to academics and experts. This extraordinary increase in rice prices should not have happened if we listened to criticism. Well, that's the importance of national sovereignty," he said.

Previously reported, President Jokowi officially inaugurated AHY who is the General Chair of the Democratic Party as Minister of ATR/BPN replacing Hadi Tjahjanto who is now the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs. This inauguration was carried out after Mahfud MD resigned because he was running as a vice presidential candidate to accompany Ganjar Pranowo in the 2024 presidential election.

The inauguration was held at the State Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday, February 21. The eldest son of the 6th President of the Republic of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono was inaugurated in conjunction with Hadi.

The position of the Democratic Party is currently included in the coalition supporting pair number two, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka in the 2024 presidential election.
