Sandiaga: Foreign Tourist Charges Enter Bali Targeted At IDR 500 Billion

GIANYAR - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno said that the revenue of foreign tourists (tourists) of IDR 150 thousand on the island of Bali has collected IDR 20 billion.

The levy was tested from February 7, 2024 and officially implemented on February 14, 2024.

"Earlier, I just discussed with the Acting Governor of Bali, it has been collected above Rp. 20 billion and this year it is targeted at Rp. 500 billion. It is estimated that it can raise Rp. 500 billion," Sandiaga said in Gianyar, Bali, Thursday, March 7.

This levy is important, one of which is to deal with environmental issues, especially garbage.

"I got the story, there was one tourist (assing) who got here from (the terminal) domestic, but instead asked how come I wasn't billed to pay 10 dollars or Rp. 150 thousand. So we will have three (vote mechanisms) that will collect, before departure via the website, and upon arrival for socialization. But later (checks) will be made in destinations and hotels and this has also been arranged," he said.
