6 Hours Stuck In A Well, 4 Cianjur Residents Evaluated In A Dead State
The joint team of the Cianjur Basarnas, West Java, managed to evacuate four victims who fell into a 20 meter deep well and died after six hours of maximum effort, Wednesday night.
The Commander of the Cianjur Basarnas Team, Andika Zain, said that the evacuation process was hampered by the thickness of the toxic gas contained in the well located in Panaregan Village, Gasol Village, Cugenang District, so the officers took a long time.
"After it was confirmed safe, the officers managed to evacuate one victim at 18.00 WIB and the last victim was successfully removed at 22.15 WIB, after officers used the O2 tube to dive," said Andika, Thursday, March 7.
The four victims, named Idin, Wahab, Jajang and Hada, were immediately handed over to the family for burial, so that the evacuation process was complete and stopped before midnight Wednesday.
As for further investigations, he said, it was handed over to the police and the deadly well was fitted with a police line to avoid residents crossing the location and as an effort to avoid other unwanted things.
"The joint team consists of Basarnas, PMI, BPBD and Cianjur Fire Department, completing the evacuation process and this is the first task of the Cianjur Basarnas in providing handling," he said.
As reported by the joint team of the Cianjur Basarnas, efforts to evacuate four residents who fell into a 20 meter deep well in Panaregan Village, Gasol Village, Cugenang District which allegedly contained gas, last Wednesday.
The Cianjur Basarnas Team Commander, Andika Zain, said that the four victims who were working to repair the water machine located inside the well were trying to help the first victim who suddenly fell.
"It was informed that one by one the victims tried to help the first to third victims who suddenly fell to the bottom of the well, without predicting any gas in the well, so four people reportedly fell into a 20 meter deep well," he said.

So that joint officers and volunteers were forced to wait for the breathing apparatus to descend to the bottom of the well containing the gas, because the breathing apparatus used made a volunteer almost faint when it reached a depth of 10 meters.
