Healthy Budget Wariskan, Sri Mulyani Not Worried About Transition To New Government

Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati ensured that the Ministry of Finance would provide a healthy, strong, and credible budget legacy so that the new elected government would be able to continue development.

"I think by respecting the political process and the results achieved by this government, especially the Ministry of Finance, it is our responsibility to ensure that we will provide a healthy, strong, and credible budget legacy," Sri Mulyani said on the Mandiri Investment Forum 2024 agenda, Tuesday, March 5.

Sri Mulyani said that the change of leadership in Indonesia is not the first time, so there is no need to worry about the transition process that will occur in the future.

"It's always interesting to observe the point of view of the news, but the real job is how to provide certainty about what the new government considers an important priority," he said.

Sri Mulyani added that the Indonesian economy and fiscal policy have always been a combination of ambitions to continue to progress or accelerate the progress that has been targeted.

"But at the same time, we must ensure that the foundation remains strong and strong, and healthy," he said.

Therefore, Sri explained that it is important to answer the aspirations and expectations of the people by the next government. However, it must not sacrifice the foundation to build a bigger country.

"Any government task, when you have been elected, is actually trying to continue to satisfy and fulfill the aspirations of the community. But at the same time, sometimes work secretly so that you continue to strengthen your foundation, so that the foundation will continue to develop and be able to withstand many shocks," he said.
