Bawaslu: Acting Mayor Of Bengkulu Disciplinary Sanctions From KASN Because It Is Not Neutral
BENGKULU - Bengkulu City General Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) said the Acting Mayor of Bengkulu Arif Gunadi received a witness severe punishment from the State Civil Apparatus Commission (KASN).
The Coordinator of the Division (Kordiv) for Handling Violations and Completion of Disputes (PPPS) Bawaslu Ahmad Maskuri explained that the sanctions were given regarding public reports regarding neutrality carried out by Acting Mayor Arif Gunadi and Head of the Bengkulu City Regional Planning and Development Agency (Bappeda) Medy Febriansyah and recommendations from the Bengkulu City Bawaslu regarding neutrality.
"With reports from the public and recommendations from the Bengkulu City Bawaslu, then KASN makes a decision and has been issued by imposing sanctions on those concerned," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, March 4.
With the sanctions imposed by KASN regarding neutrality, Ahmad hopes that ASN, especially in Bengkulu City, will maintain neutrality, because ahead of the 2024 Regional Head Election (Pilkada) there is a potential for increasing involvement of civil servants in the political process.
Then, ASN in Bengkulu City to make these sanctions a concern so that they continue to maintain neutrality by not being involved in practical political activities ahead of the 2024 Pilkada.

Ahead of the implementation of the Pilkada which will be held in September 2024, there is the potential for an increase in violations of ASN neutrality.
"We anticipate potential that will make appeals as usual and submit letters to all agencies related to ASN neutrality," he said.
Meanwhile, the giving of witnesses to the Acting Mayor of Bengkulu Arif Gunadi in accordance with government regulations Number 94 of 2021 concerning the discipline of civil servants.
In addition, KASN also asked the Minister of Home Affairs to provide guidance and evaluation of the performance of the Acting Mayor of Bengkulu Arif Gunadi in accordance with the letter of the Chairman of KASN Number: R-763/NK.01.00/02/2024 dated February 29, 2024.
