The Prosecutor's Office Detains 3 Suspects Of Corruption In Sungai KonI Grant Funds Full Of Jambi State Loss Of IDR 779 Million

JAMBI - Investigators from the District Attorney's Office (Kejari) have detained three suspects in the corruption case of grant funds for the Sungai Penuh KONI in Jambi which cost the state Rp779 million in the 2023 fiscal year.

The Head of the Sungai State Prosecutor's Office, full of Anton Despinola, through his official statement, received Monday, saying that the prosecutor's investigators had named and detained three suspects in the Sungai City City KONI Grant Fund corruption case in full 2023.

The three suspects detained were Khairi, who at that time served as General Chair of the Sungai Penuh City KONI, Benni Zekmana, spread as Secretary and Triko Marfendri as Treasurer where the case began when the three daily KONI administrators in 2023 received budget assistance from the Sungai Penuh city government.

At that time, the Sungai City KONI management fully received a grant budget from the Sungai Penuh City Government of Rp. 4 billion which should have been managed for sports achievements in the city, but it is suspected that the three KONI administrators did not use grant funds according to planning.

After the case was handled by the prosecutor and hadi; the investigation was obtained by state financial losses amounting to Rp779.6 million and the three suspects were suspected of violating the articles of the primary indictment in accordance with Article 2 (1) subsidiary Article 3 of the Anti-Corruption Law, then the process after the determination of the suspect, the prosecutor immediately detained the three KONI administrators to the local detention center.

"The three suspects have now been entrusted to the Class II B Sungai Penuh detention center to be detained for the next 20 days since," said Antonius.

In handling the alleged corruption case of the Sungai Penuh City KONI grant funds, his party has examined 48 witnesses and 4 experts. The four experts are from the procurement of goods and services, forensic experts, state finance experts and taxes.

Meanwhile, in a different case, the Sungai Kejari Prosecutor's Office will immediately delegate a corruption case at the 2022 Mini Stadium where prosecutors have received three suspects and evidence of corruption in the construction of a mini soccer stadium in Sungai Akar Village at the Sungai Penuh City Youth and Sports Office for the 2022 fiscal year.

The suspects are Adiarta bin Syofan acting as supervisory consultant, Welly Andres as ASN at the Sungai Penuh Perkim Service, Yusrizal Bin Nusri as the organizer of the activity which will then be detained by the detention center for the next 20 days while waiting for the transfer of case files to the Corruption Court at the Jambi District Court.

In addition to the 3 defendants, the Sungai Penuh Prosecutor's Office also named one new suspect, namely the initials SF acting as PPK activities where the next one related to the alleged state financial loss in the Sungai Akar mini-tele football stadium project reached Rp. 889 million and the defendants were charged with primary charges in Article 2 (1), subsidiary to Article 3 of Law 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption.
