Good Behavior, Former Minister Of Youth And Sports Imam Nahrawi Free Of Conditions From Sukamiskin Prison Bandung

BANDUNG CITY - Former Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Imam Nahrawi who is a convict of a corruption case has been released from the Sukamiskin Correctional Institution (Lapas), Bandung City, West Java.

It is known that Imam Nahrawi served as Menpora on October 27, 2014 until he resigned on September 20, 2019.

Head of the Sukamiskin Prison Prisoner Development Division, Medi Oktaviansyah, said the former Menpora was free on condition and still had to report until July 5, 2027.

"So after the conditional release process, the person concerned must report to the Class I Fathers of Bandung until July 5, 2027. So during that time the person concerned must report himself to the Fathers," said Medi in Bandung, as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, March 2.

Medi ensured that the conditional release to Nahrawi was in accordance with the rules by having served two-thirds of his sentence of a total sentence of seven years in prison.

He added that Imam Nahrawi was considered to have behaved well while in prison and had already paid the replacement money.

"In addition to undergoing two-thirds, the person concerned also meets the requirements for good behavior and has also participated in programs in the Sukamiskin Class I Prison," he said.

In addition, continued Medi, Nahrawi received a total remission of seven months, 15 days before his conditional release consisting of special remissions, general remissions, and additional remissions.

"From serving here, Pak Imam has received remission for 7 months and 15 days," he said when met at Sukamiskin Prison, Bandung City, on Friday (1/3).

Meanwhile, Imam Nahrawi stumbled upon a bribery case related to the processing of proposals for KONI grants and gratuities from a number of parties. Nahrawi was later sentenced to seven years in prison in 2020.

In addition to the prison sentence, Imam also had to pay a fine of Rp. 400 million and had to pay compensation of Rp. 19,154,203,882.00.

In addition, the verdict was given, there was an additional sentence against Imam Nahrawi in the form of revocation of the right to be elected in public office for five years after serving his main sentence.
