Batang Police Arrest Laptop Thieves To Projectors In 11 Schools
Batang Resort Police, Central Java, uncovered cases of theft of electronic goods in 11 elementary schools with the suspect initials WT (31) and two other perpetrators from January to February 2024.
Batang Police Chief AKBP Nur Cahyo Ari Prasetyo said the disclosure of the case began with a report from the Wonobodro Elementary School, Blado District, which lost a number of electronic items such as laptops and projectors.
The police who received the report then conducted an investigation at the scene of the case and statements from witnesses.
"From the results of the investigation, information and facts were obtained that the theft with the weight was allegedly carried out by a recidivist and two perpetrators," he said.
According to him, in the arrest of WT (31), a resident of Pecalungan Subdistrict, the police were forced to shoot the suspect in the right leg for trying to fight the officers.
The other two suspects whose identities have been identified are now on the wanted list.
"We have secured one perpetrator, while the other two perpetrators are still at large," he said.

The police chief, who was accompanied by the Head of the Detective and Criminal Unit AKP Imam Muhtadi, said the last perpetrator carried out his action on February 8, 2024, targeting the elementary school teacher's room by prying out the window.
After successfully entering, the perpetrator and other perpetrators took 2 units of electronic goods, 2 units of projectors, 1 unit of printer, 3 units of laptops, 1 tablet, Rp2 million in cash, 2 units of camera tripots, and 2 units of computer monitors.
"Based on the results of the examination, the perpetrator admitted that he had committed theft in 9 elementary schools from January to February 2024," he said.
The suspect will be charged with Article 363 paragraph (1) 4e and 5e of the Criminal Code, namely theft with a maximum penalty of 7 years in prison.
