German Results Open 2024: Rehan/Lisa Stay In Quarter Finals

JAKARTA - Mixed doubles pair Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Lisa Ayu Kusumawati are the only Indonesian representatives left at the 2024 German Open.

Rehan/Lisa kept their dream after stopping the Australian couple, Kenneth Zhe Hooi Choo/Gronya Somerville, two straight games 21-14 and 21-11 at Westengie Sporthalle, Thursday, February 29, 2024, evening WIB.

The seventh seed stepped into the quarter-finals of this Super 300 BWF level event after appearing to dominate their opponents in the first and second sets.

"Alhamdulillah, we were able to get through the second half smoothly and be given a win. Maybe today's opponent is not good enough to play or Rehan and I can play better so we can win and advance to the last eight," said Lisa after the match.

In the last eight, Rehan/Lisa will meet representatives of Malaysia, Goh Soon Huat/Lai Shevon Jemie, who in this event are the fourth seed.

The couple qualified for the last eight after stopping the Singapore mixed doubles, Hee Yong Kai Terry/Tan Wei Han Jessica, in a rubber game.

"In the last eight, of course, the struggle was tougher. The opponent must have also seen how weak I and Rehan were. Therefore, Rehan and I must be able to cover each other," said Lisa.

Rehan/Lisa are the only Indonesian representatives left at the 2024 German Open after Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari fell in the second half.

Rinov/Pitha who attended as the eighth seed must acknowledge the toughness of the Malaysian pair, Tan Kian Meng/Lai Pei Jing, in a two-game live match.

At the 2024 German Open, Indonesia only sent three mixed doubles. One other representative, namely Dejan Ferdinansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja, had previously returned early in the first round.
