Former Head Of Drugs At The South Lampung Police, Fredy Pratama Network, Sentenced To Death

BANDARLAMPUNG - Chairman of the Panel of Judges during a trial at the Tanjungkarang District Court, Bandarlampung, Lingga Setiawan sentenced the defendant Andres Gustami to death in a case of narcotics trafficking of the Fredy Pratama network.

Andres Gustami, who is a former Head of the South Lampung Police Narcotics Unit (Kasat Narkoba), listened to the judge's decision accompanied by his legal adviser.

"The defendant Andre Gustami has sentenced him to death," Lingga said in a verdict reported by ANTARA, Thursday, February 29.

In the verdict, the panel of judges considered that in deciding the death penalty for the defendant, among others, did not support the government's program to destroy narcotics trafficking, as a member of the police had betrayed the National Police institution, made use of people to make money, and the amount that was passed was very large.

"There is absolutely no mitigating thing," he said.

The verdict is the same as the previous prosecutor's demands, namely demanding that the defendant Andre Gustami be sentenced to death. The prosecutor considers that the defendant as an officer has become an intermediary for the circulation of international network narcotics.

In addition, the defendant without rights or against the law has committed malicious conspiracy to offer, sell and sell, buy, exchange, hand over or receive, class I narcotics.

On this decision, the defendant Andre and his legal adviser declared an appeal. Meanwhile, the Public Prosecutor stated that he accepted.

It is known that the former Head of Drugs at the South Lampung Police carried out his action to guard or pass narcotics belonging to the Fredy Pratama network from May to June 2023.

Throughout May to June, AKP AG carried out eight escorts with 150 kg of crystal methamphetamine and 2,000 ecstasy pills. Where from the results of the escort, the defendant AKP AG managed to pocket Rp1.3 billion from the Fredy Pratama network.
