Vice President's Message To Diaspora: Don't Forget To Go Home, Bring Knowledge For Indonesian Progress
JAKARTA - Vice President (Vice President) Ma'ruf Amin advised all Indonesian students who are studying abroad to learn as much knowledge as possible for the progress of the Indonesian nation.
"I said, the main knowledge here is that you take it, don't leave it, take it all, in New Zealand too, bring it home for Indonesia's progress," said Vice President Ma'ruf Amin when opening the National Dialogue in Auckland, New Zealand, reported by ANTARA, Thursday, February 29.
In the event which was attended by around 300 Indonesian diaspora in New Zealand, the Vice President told the achievements of a number of Indonesian students studying in China in creating train technology with a speed of 650 km per hour.
"There are S2 who study the 650 km high-speed train per hour. The train doesn't exist yet. We just have the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train, maybe later to Surabaya. So Indonesia even though it already has a high-speed train that is 350 km per hour, but our students already have a speed of 650 km per hour," he said.
The Vice President also advised the Indonesian diaspora to strengthen the national spirit by always displaying the cultural harmony and hospitality of Indonesia.
"Show the character of the Indonesian nation who loves peace, is tolerant, and appreciates diversity. Establish solidarity among Indonesian citizens, and take an active role in creating a calm and comfortable monitoring environment. Anyway, don't make an act, don't make a fuss in other countries," he said.

Finally, the Vice President advised the Indonesian Embassy that every Indonesian citizen must ensure access to the same consular protection and services.
"I ordered don't forget to return to the country, at least the heart," he said.
At the end of the event, the Vice President invited all participants to sing a song titled Kusbini's country which gave the meaning of service to the nation and state.
Also attending this event, the Indonesian Ambassador to New Zealand Fientje Maritje S. along with all his staff, as well as administrators and members of Indonesian student and community organizations in New Zealand.
