Jokowi Signs Presidential Decree On The Dismissal Of Arya Wedakarna From DPD
JAKARTA - President Jokowi issued Presidential Decree on the dismissal of Arya Wedakarna from the DPD. AWK was fired from the DPD for violating the code of ethics.
The dismissal was stated in the Decree of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Number 35/P of 2024 concerning the inauguration of the interim dismissal of DPD members and MPR for the 2019-2024 term of office.
It inaugurates the dismissal of Dr. Shri IGN Arya Wedakarna MWS, SE (MTRU). as a member of the DPD from the Bali electoral district as a member of the MPR for the 2019-2024 term, with President Jokowi's signature in Jakarta, February 22, 2024.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Bali Regional Representative Council (DPD), Putu Rio, said that the secretariat had not yet received an official presidential decree regarding the dismissal of Arya Wedakarna (AWK), he asked to wait until the center read it directly through the trial.
"So I also received a call from the center (DPD RI) actually from the center there has been no official submission regarding the decision, because later there will be a plenary session to read the decision," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, February 29.
"It looks like early March, but there is no definite schedule information yet. It must be officially (in the plenary session) delivered," continued Putu Rio.

The DPD BK previously announced the dismissal of Arya Wedakarna who was deemed to have violated the oath or promise of position and code of ethics and/or order of the DPD RI as regulated in the MD3 Law.
AWK was then severely sanctioned in the form of permanent dismissal, this was decided after it was in accordance with Article 48 paragraph 1 and paragraph 2 of the DPD RI Regulation Number 1 of 2021.
